When you teach children that their actions make a difference, their lives will be different!
By
giving children tools for creative discovery, The Umbrella Project
shows our Youngest Citizens of our World Society that they can
make a mark!
Throughout
time, through the common language of art, children around the
world create in the innate desire to reveal and heal their hearts.
Knowing the importance of self-expression, The Umbrella Project
provides a way for children to communicate their visions of hope
and healing and in the process show that they care for other children
in crisis. Under our symbolic umbrella of protection, well, ill,
and challenged children learn social action through exhibitions
of their one-of-a-kind umbrellas which then raise funds to help
other children in need.
Wherever
Life's storms impact young people, we are there!
ONE WORLD ONE HEART to HELP HAITI
In
the aftershock of the Earthquake in Haiti, The Umbrella Project
proposes a national endeavor to help survivors restore physical,
mental, and spiritual well-being.
Through
the symbolic image of protection, the umbrella serves as a powerful
expression of care. Painted by school-age children the umbrella becomes
a vision of hope, and a means for young people to raise funds to help
others in need.
The
Umbrella Project endeavors to teach children that we are all connected
through the common language of art. Every child can make their
mark, and every child can help another through creativity.
Through painting to help others, children learn they can make a
difference. They gain self-esteem and learn social action.
It is time to realize that an earthquake in one part of the world
causes
global ripples as the energy of disaster, through the International
network, touches our hearts and homes. We are one people
connected through our common love of life.
At
this time of trial, we need to come together as one family to help each
other, not only survive, but thrive as a Global Community.
Since
1990, The Umbrella Project, activating global community
service through art, has responded with education and funds wherever
the need is greatest.
A
Downpour of Love
The
recent Tsunami disaster has once again compelled us into action.
We are reaching out to schools and groups to join The Umbrella
Project in teaching young children across America that they
inhabit ONE WORLD - that events
occurring around the globe impact them at home. In a world where
children don't feel safe as the aftershocks of the Asian Tsunami
crisis reverberate and images of loss and survival tidal wave
through our lives, we have immediately activated One
World, One HeART, Visions of Hope!
Your
personal involvement at this critical time will assist us to carry
our message across the US encouraging our children to become involved
in helping the tiny victims in Asia recover and restore their
lives, faith, and future through creative giving. We rely on your
outpouring of love (financial and/or community organization) to
support this healing venture.
