When you teach children that their actions make a difference, their lives will be different!
By
giving children tools for creative discovery, The Umbrella Project
shows our Youngest Citizens of our World Society that they can
make a mark!
Throughout
time, through the common language of art, children around the
world create in the innate desire to reveal and heal their hearts.
Knowing the importance of self-expression, The Umbrella Project
provides a way for children to communicate their visions of hope
and healing and in the process show that they care for other children
in crisis. Under our symbolic umbrella of protection, well, ill,
and challenged children learn social action through exhibitions
of their one-of-a-kind umbrellas which then raise funds to help
other children in need.

Helping Domestic Animals
Raining Cats & Dogs
May 2011, Hillside at Sedona will be sponsoring a dinner "FEASTING WITH FIDO". Schools will be painting umbrellas with the theme of "Cats and Dogs" to teach children about pet care. Along with proceeds from the dinner, these umbrellas will be exhibited and given for donation to benefit the local Humane Society.
ONE WORLD ONE HEART to HELP HAITI
In
the aftershock of the Earthquake in Haiti, The Umbrella Project
created an ongoing national endeavor to help survivors restore physical,
mental, and spiritual well-being.
Through
the symbolic image of protection, the umbrella serves as a powerful
expression of care. Painted by school-age children the umbrella becomes
a vision of hope, and a means for young people to raise funds to help
others in need.
The
Umbrella Project endeavors to teach children that we are all connected
through the common language of art. Every child can make their
mark, and every child can help another through creativity.
Through painting to help others, children learn they can make a
difference. They gain self-esteem and learn social action.
It is time to realize that an earthquake in one part of the world causes
global ripples as the energy of disaster, through the International
network, touches our hearts and homes. We are one people
connected through our common love of life.
At
this time of trial, we need to come together as one family to help each
other, not only survive, but thrive as a Global Community.
Since 1990, The Umbrella Project, activating global community service through art, has responded with education and funds wherever the need is greatest.
